Job Title: IT Support

Location: Brampton, ON

Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday.

Pay: Based on Experience

Overview: To provide excellent IT support services to the local business community whilst ensuring that Corporate IT policies are adhered to and maintained. Provisioning smooth operation of all IT functions, providing a strong platform to enable and enhance business activities

Essential Job Functions:

• Works with and fully understands local IT systems and applications.
• Knowledge of standard operating systems.
• Experience with local area networking, printing operations, and site-based applications.
• Act as local subject matter expert for IT
• Provide expert local IT knowledge to the business
• Fix user issues by taking a logical problem-solving approach
• Remote support and assistance should always be available
• Keep up to date with IT trends, Corporate policies, and known issues
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team
• Ability to prioritize tickets based on business criticality
• Interpersonal and communication skills – Ability to communicate with all levels of the business, from the shop floor to management
• Ability to travel between two sites will be required
• Maintain local IT services within the boundaries of Corporate IT policies
• Apply corporate policy where necessary and educate local businesses with regard to policy
  
  
  

Required Education and Experience:

• Post-secondary education in a related field
• Knowledge of Microsoft Operating System (desktop & service-based)
• Understanding of Local Area Networking experience (TCP/IP, Ethernet)
• Basic IT troubleshooting skills
• An understanding of hardware, software, networks, and systems.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems under pressure.
• Clear communication, patience, and empathy to assist users with varying technical knowledge.
• Translating complex technical jargon into understandable language.
• Skills in system administration and ongoing maintenance of IT resources.
