Are you a tech-savvy student with strong analytical skills and solid technical and trouble-shooting skills? Our Corporate IT team has a temporary summer employment opportunity for two (2) IT students who will assist our team of Network Technicians in the City’s computer lifecycle project. This will include, but is not limited to, assisting with the configuration and deployment of hardware/software, providing technical support, and workstation maintenance. This is a prime opportunity for individuals who are pursuing their post-secondary education and training in this field, and offers the ideal environment for applying knowledge and skills in a business setting.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare new workstations for deployment
  • Assist Technicians with scheduling and communicating with customers
  • Update/maintain/organize asset inventory
  • Basic workstation maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Dispose/remove end-of-life workstations
  • Inventory/Asset management support
  • Level 1 software support
  • Customer service, communication, and documentation

What we’re looking for:

  • Preference will be given to individuals currently pursuing a two-year diploma in IT or a related discipline, with:
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience assembling and troubleshooting PC’s & software installation
  • Experience providing customer service within a corporate enterprise environment
  • Proficient working knowledge of various:
  • software applications; workstation hardware; peripherals; and network technology
  • Excellent communication skills to deliver timely and responsive support to customers
  • The ability to take direction and work independently within a team environment

Please note: A motor vehicle and a valid class 5 Operator’s license are also required.

WAGE: $23.77 per hour (2025 student rate)

HOURS: Monday to Friday; 37.5 hours per week

TERM: 4 months: starting April 30 to August 31, 2025
