Our Client, a Banking company, is looking for an IT - Software Developer V - Java for their Toronto, ON/ Hybrid location.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze a broad range of business requirements, conduct program/system research, and identify key components for solutions delivery and problem resolution.
- Mentor and guide Junior development resources to build a strong pipeline for the team.
- Develop new applications and perform unit/component tests for new development initiatives aligned with business needs and architecture standards.
- Communicate solutions development requirements effectively and contribute to project plans, estimations, timelines, and status updates to support management and clients.
- Inform stakeholders of issues impacting the project and resolve or escalate as needed.
- Support business inquiries and activities through small enhancements and break/fix implementations.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, and other developers to ensure configuration and custom components meet requirements and performance goals.
- Create and maintain quality, defect-free code, and provide support and maintenance.
- Participate in testing cycles, peer code reviews, and post-production deployment.
- Adhere to security coding practices to prevent vulnerabilities.
- Identify and recommend development/testing tools and solutions.
- Complete unit and integration testing per standards and design specifications.
- Follow enterprise delivery practices, participate in scope assessment, risk, and cost analysis.
- Assist in developing processes for issue prevention and resolution.
- Perform Systems Administration tasks, monitor application performance, and perform configuration, backup, authentication, and tuning.
Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of Java 8 or above and relational databases.
- Experience with Object-Oriented Design.
- Experience with RESTful services.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience as a Java Developer in a Financial institution is required.
- Experience with Microservices architecture.
- Experience with React.
- Previous experience as Java Developer for Prime Brokerage business.
- Experience with Broadridge BPSA.
