Job description

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for an IT Security Analyst – Governance, AppSec/ Cloud Security to establish, define, and document business processes and develop trackers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in Role:
  1. Support the review and triage of audit and regulatory findings within the AppSec and CNAPP spaces.
  2. Manage exception/exemption requests.
  3. Drive closure of security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans.
  4. Design, implement, support, and evaluate regulatory and audit responses to ensure successful closure.
  5. Develop internet security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with bank standards.
  6. Develop and deliver training materials and perform general security awareness.
  7. Establish and maintain communication channels across business units and project teams.
  8. Maintain storage and retrieval of all project communications data and business metrics.
Must-Have Skills:
  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
  • 5+ years of experience with project management methodologies, including tracking, documentation, and governance reporting.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel (pivot tables) and PowerPoint (creating presentations for executives).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • 5+ years in Application Security or Cloud Security is preferable.
  • Hands-on experience with strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Experience in FI/Banking sectors.
  • Experience in governance space.
Soft Skills Required:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
