JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid (Downtown, Toronto)

Duration: 6 months (Possibility for an extension, or conversion to full-time employee)

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for an IT Security Analyst - Data to contribute to the good governance of existing metrics through participation in review, challenge, and change cycles. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in Role:

1. Investigation and design of IT Risk solutions (process/metrics/documentation) of key regulatory findings
2. Lead teams through methodology and data analysis around new KRIs
3. Documentation and defense of new metrics/KRIs, including 2nd line challenges
4. Gather metrics and present them in decks to senior leaders up to SVP level
5. Perform calculations and analyze data in Excel
6. Develop and interpret security policies and procedures
7. Participate in security compliance efforts
8. Develop and deliver training materials on key risk indicators and metrics

Must-Have Skills:

1. 8+ years of experience as an IT Security Analyst
2. 2+ years’ experience with technology and/or cybersecurity risk management
3. 2+ years’ experience working with modern risk mitigation technologies including: cloud, DBR, backups
4. 2+ years’ experience with data analytics (scripting, database knowledge e.g., SQL)
5. Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Nice-To-Have Skills:

1. Experience working with regulators (OSFI, Fed)
2. Experience in Financial Institutions

Soft Skills Required:

1. Excellent communication skills
2. Strong presentation skills
3. Stakeholder management skills
4. Team player attitude

Education:

1. Bachelor's degree in a technical field (preferred)
2. Security certifications such as CISSP are an asset
