Job description

Position: IT Security Analyst
Location: Port Coquitlam, BC
Are you passionate about technology and risk management? Do you have a strong grasp of technology and its potential vulnerabilities? We are seeking a dedicated IT Security Analyst to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating security threats, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of our data, and implementing robust security measures. Your expertise will be crucial in safeguarding our systems against cyber attacks and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and mitigate security threats to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of company data.
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect against cyber attacks.
  • Leverage new and existing tools to prevent security breaches and monitor for potential threats.
  • Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Schedule and coordinate security audits, penetration tests, and coordinate relevant departments and third-party contractors.
  • Develop and manage projects that deliver an improved security posture.
  • Stay current on security risks, emerging threats, and industry best practices.
  • Work closely with system administrators to apply patches and updates to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to develop and implement security policies, standards and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to staff on security best practices.
  • Qualify, sequence, and lead changes recommended through different security assessments.
  • Manage and maintain IT incident response plans.
  • Collect and analyze threat intelligence data to proactively identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and conduct security awareness programs and training sessions for employees to promote a security-conscious culture.
  • Assess and manage security risks associated with third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Continuously review and update security policies and procedures to ensure they align with the latest industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a security breach or other disruptive incidents.
  • Create and maintain security metrics and reports to provide insights into the organization's security posture and the effectiveness of security measures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Security Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, and security frameworks.
  • Experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus.
