Job summary

Procom is seeking an IT Risk Oversight and Governance professional for a 6-month contract in Toronto, Ontario. The role focuses on independent risk oversight within GRCE, including third-party risk, issues management, and KRIs, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring 3 days in the office.

The successful candidate will support risk identification, assessment, reporting, and stakeholder engagement to enhance risk transparency and strengthen control effectiveness across IT programs and initiatives.

IT Risk Oversight and Governance:On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for an IT Risk Oversight and Governance for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.IT Risk Oversight and Governance - Job Description:The IT Risk Oversight and Governance role involves providing independent risk oversight and effective challenge within the Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Ethics (GRCE) framework. The focus is on key risk management activities, including third-party risk, issues management, and key risk indicators (KRIs). The role supports risk identification, assessment, reporting, and stakeholder engagement to enhance risk transparency and control effectiveness.IT Risk Oversight and Governance - Responsibilities:• Provide independent risk oversight and challenge across risk management activities including third-party risk and issues management.• Review new and existing business initiatives to identify potential risk impacts and escalate as necessary.• Advise business groups on risk framework implementation and governance processes.• Coordinate and participate in oversight activities such as reporting, training needs assessment, and regulatory administration.• Consult with stakeholders to improve risk measurement consistency and reporting transparency.• Manage risk-related databases and support data analysis, forecasting, and visualization adhering to data governance standards.• Maintain tools and templates for risk programs including Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and business continuity planning standards.IT Risk Oversight and Governance - Mandatory Skills:• 4 to 6 years of relevant experience with a post-secondary degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.• In-depth knowledge of information and technology risk management practices.• Understanding of regulatory requirements and risk policy frameworks.• Experience with quality control and testing frameworks.• Technical proficiency through education and/or business experience.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.IT Risk Oversight and Governance – Nice-to-Have Skills:• Experience with governance system and framework lifecycle management.• Knowledge of legislative and regulatory directives related to risk management.• Familiarity with risk metrics, reporting tools, and data visualization techniques.• Experience building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders in risk management contexts.• Background in supporting policy, standard, and operating procedure development and training delivery.IT Risk Oversight and Governance – Assignment Length:This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension.IT Risk Oversight and Governance - Start Date:ASAP.IT Risk Oversight and Governance - Assignment Location:Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
