IT Quality Senior Engineer

The IT Quality Senior Engineer applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the functional, automation, performance of testing best practice and the improvement of processes and workflow for the area or function.

Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Lead and mentor a group of SDETs to deliver high quality automation and testing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prior expertise in Test plans, Test Strategy and Estimations for Quality Engineering projects.
2. Responsible for initiatives related to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process and product rollout into production, making recommendations of solutions and improvements. Responsibilities may also include software quality assurance testing.
3. Develop scalable solutions for complex problems in quality engineering space.
4. Hands-on knowledge in programming, framework design and implementations preferably in Java.
5. In-depth understanding of data patterns, data validations and various databases including SQL and NoSQL.
6. Demonstrable knowledge in service level Automation using Java.
7. Lead the team of SDETs to act as the quality gate before software products are delivered to our end users.
8. Identify and highlight ways to continuously optimize the way in which QA function operates to create an efficient, scalable team.
9. Collaborate closely with global BA, DEV & QA Teams for efficient test planning, test design and coordinate test efforts between Global team.
10. Exhibits sound understanding of concepts and principles in own technical area and a basic knowledge of these elements in other areas.
11. Requires in-depth understanding of how own area integrates within IT Quality and has basic commercial awareness.

Knowledge/Experience:

1. 5+ years working in a SCRUM or Agile engineering environment with Financial Service industry background working on Trading platforms.
2. Experience in building automation framework from scratch and implementing BDD framework.
3. Demonstrable knowledge of Core Java, Python design patterns & SQL.
4. Strong working experience with both Selenium & API Automation.
5. Proven track record in successful automation of systems with complex architecture.
6. Solid experience in building CI/CD pipelines in cloud platforms.
7. Experience in Performance testing and performance engineering.
8. Experience in leading and managing Quality Engineering teams globally.
9. Experience in automating complex applications with multi-tier architecture and dynamic data flow between upstream and downstream systems.
10. Nice to have a previous development experience.
11. Acts as advisor and mentor for junior members of the team.
12. Makes evaluative judgments based on analysis of factual information in complicated and novel situations and provides solutions to problems.
