Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for an IT Project Manager to make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in Role:
- Oversees the application of project management methodology during all phases of the project cycle, including project design, scope management, cost control, quality, and performance reporting.
- Develops, tracks, and manages program budgets, project plans, timelines, and scope.
- Manages project resources, including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching, and advising.
- Partners closely with other functional team members to define business requirements.
- Leads teams of developers in delivering high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
- Defines test plans and ensures products are defect-free before User Acceptance Testing.
- Facilitates the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures.
- Prepares and presents cost-benefit analyses.
- Ensures appropriate systems development and program management processes are utilized.
Must-Have Skills:
- 8+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager
- Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in large-scale, multi-platform systems environments
- Background in risk assessment with the ability to manage risk and apply management principles to technology applications, products, and business functions
- Ability to manage critical deadlines and multiple deliverables; highly organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills with stakeholders

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degrees are preferred. PMP or PMI certification is also preferred.
