Job summary

La Vie en Rose is a proudly local, family‑owned retailer with over 5,000 employees and more than 300 stores across Canada and in 19 countries. The IT Project Manager will report to the Team Lead, IT Project Management and Business Analysis, overseeing projects from analysis through implementation.

You will coordinate multi‑team efforts, manage budgets and timelines, and ensure IT solutions align with business needs while staying current with industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent in Project Management.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and French.
  • Experience with SDLC and deliverables associated with each phase.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate projects, prepare status reports, and follow up on tasks assigned to resources involved in projects.
  • Manage one or more medium- to high-complexity projects.
  • Guide teams and develop project plans while monitoring project progress daily.
  • Identify resource requirements, monitor project progress, and escalate issues to stakeholders.
  • Track key project milestones and adjust plans and resources accordingly.
  • Coordinate communications and manage budgets, scope, and risks across projects.
  • Work with management to provide direction and support, optimising resource use.
  • Ensure technical aspects and business processes meet the needs of business units.
  • Build strong relationships with partners and vendors to maximise project outcomes.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in project management.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Team Lead, IT Project Management and Business Analysis, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for projects of varying size and complexity. The incumbent will manage all aspects of program/project analysis, design, development, and implementation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate projects, prepare status reports, and follow up on tasks assigned to the resources involved in the various projects.
  • Manage one or more medium‑ to high‑complexity projects.
  • Guide teams and develop project plans while monitoring project progress daily.
  • Identify resource requirements, monitor project progress, and **escalate** functional, scheduling, and quality issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Track key project milestones and adjust plans and resources accordingly.
  • Coordinate all project communications and manage the budgets, scope, and risks of the various projects.
  • Work closely with management to provide direction and the necessary support, and advise on the best ways to use resources to achieve the objectives of ongoing projects.
  • Ensure that technical aspects and business processes are effectively integrated to meet the needs and requirements of the various business units.
  • Build strong business relationships with partners and vendors to maximize their contributions and the outcomes for projects and the company.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in project management.
  • Work closely with all teams across the company.
Your Profile
  • Leadership and organization: You excel at managing multiple IT projects simultaneously while ensuring effective coordination, rigorous follow‑up, and adherence to timelines.
  • Communication and collaboration: You are a skilled facilitator who effectively engages stakeholders while maintaining clear and transparent communication.
  • Problem‑solving and adaptability: When unexpected situations arise, you respond quickly and creatively to adjust plans and ensure project success.
  • Continuous learning and improvement: Curious and proactive, you stay current on project management best practices and technology trends to continuously improve your approach.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent in Project Management.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in IT, including at least 2 years in IT project management and digital transformation. Experience managing projects involving multiple technologies and functionalities.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and French (the incumbent will be required to communicate with external vendors).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with non‑technical staff and team members.
  • Experience working with SDLC and deliverables associated with each phase.
  • Experience in resource estimation and delivery planning.
