Job description

The Project Manager manages the end-to-end Project management life cycle, from the initiation, planning, execution, control, and close-out phases. The role is responsible for the success of the solution delivered and involves a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and facilitates the entire project lifecycle, including planning, design sessions, testing, training, product demos, and solution adoption.
  • Manages solution adoption strategies as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Coordinates vendor relationships and resolves issues.
  • Collaborates with project teams and stakeholders to support project outcomes.
  • Promotes the adoption of modern service delivery and transformation within Alberta Innovates through on-the-job learning.
  • Identifies and manages project risks and issues, developing proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Handles changes in project priorities and expectations to ensure successful completion.
  • Communicates effectively to improve transparency and disseminate information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Negotiates resource requirements to adjust project team size as needed.
  • Removes roadblocks and distractions impacting the project lifecycle.
  • Resolves conflicts and mitigates issues.
  • Maintains project metrics using management tools to track progress and quality assurance.
  • Manages stakeholder communication, including progress and financial reporting.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Familiar with Agile and/or Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Several years or more of project management experience.
  • Experience in application development methodologies.
  • Minimum years of progressive Information Technology experience and broad IT knowledge.
  • PMP and/or PRINCE2 certification.

Engagement period :

  • August – March, with a possibility for extension.

Work Location :

Edmonton Research and Development Park (ERDP), open to hybrid work arrangements at Karl Clark Road, Edmonton.
