Position: IT Project Engineer

Location: Hybrid (Primarily office-based with occasional client visits)

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 + Profit Sharing

Role Summary

The IT Project Engineer is responsible for planning and executing a variety of infrastructure and cloud-related projects. This includes server upgrades, virtualization, network configuration, cloud migrations, and VOIP deployment, alongside mentoring junior staff and collaborating closely with internal project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead the full lifecycle of IT infrastructure projects, including planning, execution, and delivery across server, network, and cloud systems.

  • Solution Design: Develop tailored IT solutions for clients, including 3CX VOIP telephony systems.

  • Cloud Services: Manage cloud-based migrations and configurations involving Azure AD, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

  • Network Infrastructure: Install and configure switches, routers, VLANs, and wireless access points.

  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering skill development and maintaining service quality.

  • VOIP Implementation: Lead deployment and configuration of 3CX-based phone systems.

  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation throughout project execution using internal systems and tools.

  • Collaboration: Work in coordination with the Project Coordinator to manage timelines, client updates, and resource allocation.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements, with a focus on documentation standards and automation opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in IT project delivery.

  • Demonstrated experience deploying and managing VOIP solutions (ideally 3CX).

  • Strong background configuring SonicWall and/or Fortinet firewalls (minimum 5 years).

  • Experience with Ubiquiti networking equipment (switches, WAPs).

  • Proficient with Windows Server, Hyper-V, VMware, and Azure Active Directory.

  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, VMware VCP, or Cisco CCNP are considered an asset.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a client-first approach.

  • Previous experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) setting is highly preferred.

Working Conditions
  • Full-time role with occasional evening or weekend project requirements.

  • Hybrid working model: office-based with some flexibility and occasional client site visits.

  • Remote work available depending on the nature of assigned projects.
