POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Program Manager is responsible for managing complex provider-facing technologies & solutions with multiple cross-team integration points using various methodologies. The IT Program Manager oversees program schedules, costs, and quality proactively, making recommendations aligned with program objectives. This role leverages technical knowledge, best practices, and organizational dynamics to remove impediments and mitigate issues and risks. Additionally, the IT Program Manager mentors others on agile, waterfall, and project management methodologies, driving continuous improvement. This is an individual contributor role focusing on managing a variety of IT-related projects.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage sub-project dependencies and program structures.
  • Understand how agile and waterfall frameworks deliver business value and how practices can evolve.
  • Identify the appropriate level of detail for visibility and control.
  • Communicate complex schedules and inter-dependencies clearly to stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive schedules using multiple methodologies.
  • Monitor future work to proactively adjust plans and resources, anticipating scheduling challenges.
  • Identify, document, and communicate project risks and impediments from initiation through the lifecycle, gaining stakeholder agreement.
  • Gather effort estimates and assess capacity to derive accurate durations.
  • Plan and facilitate standard meetings such as backlog grooming, iteration planning, retrospectives, reviews, and daily stand-ups.
  • Recommend deviations from standard processes and gain stakeholder consensus.
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative status updates aligned with project success criteria and goals.
  • Address quality issues proactively and communicate long-term resolutions to stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 7 years of IT experience, including managing projects and leading teams for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Experience with provider-facing IT projects is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Agile experience.
  • SAFe Agile experience is recommended.
  • Relevant certifications preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience managing large-scale, technically complex projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with business software such as Microsoft Office, Clarity, MS Project, TFS, Jira.
  • Ability to influence, manage conflicts, and promote teamwork while encouraging diverse perspectives.
  • Highly adaptable to changing environments.
  • Situational awareness to listen effectively and assert appropriately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range*

$98,200 - $151,360

*This range reflects the national average; actual salaries may vary based on location, with adjustments up to 10% lower or 12% higher depending on the state, such as Colorado, California, Washington, New York, Hawaii, Vermont, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Illinois.
