Job Description

The role will maintain solid working relationships with stakeholders (internal and external, in addition to vendors) to ensure MPAC is delivering services / products as required.

You have :

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is required
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT operations required; experience leading projects / teams and / or acting as a consultant / advisor
  • Certification as a Scrum Master or Agile Practitioner
  • Advanced knowledge of various IT technologies; theory and principles of systems design and development
  • Strong leadership and agile project management skills
  • Experience working in Agile and / or DevOps environments
  • Understanding and experience with software related industry trends
  • Strong understanding of application layers and interconnectivity
  • Understanding of industry security practices and compliancy including ISO 27001
  • Willing and eager to learn business applications and technology domains
  • Demonstrated commitment to service excellence
  • Strong management and team building skills to provide leadership, motivation, and direction to staff

What you will do :

  • Acts as a resource for teams and expert consultant to get past project roadblocks and / or add additional resources to enable timely delivery, planning and quality of technical solutions, products and services
  • Identifies needs for improvement, continually conducting review of departmental operations – focusing on prioritizing resources, and leveraging resources across teams for effective deployment
  • Provides a technical perspective on overall departmental operations, acting as an expert advisor / consultant to members of the management team
  • Reviews operational frameworks and identifies areas for efficiency and improved implementation of standards
  • Keeps track of Departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and seeks to assist in the attainment of those indicators; provides feedback on performance levels that are reasonable to the Directors / CITO
  • Acts as an advisor, participating in development, planning resources for potential initiatives and integration of any new technology or tools
  • Helps develop operational level agreements / service level agreements for MPAC, managing risk and assessing performance and current production environment for the ability to deliver
  • Considers risk profile – corporate, enterprise and client-facing applications / tools / products
  • Support a best practice learning environment to allow successful management, coaching and mentoring of staff
  • Identify unit operating budget requirements, monitor and forecast monthly allocations and develop plans to mitigate variances
