Job Description
This senior level position will work as part of an experienced team in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our computer networks and security systems. The duties performed must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers, and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.
Major Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design and implementation of Farm Boy’s evolving network and cybersecurity structure.
- Install, configure, and support network devices such as switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, network ports, paging, telecommunication systems, and UPS systems.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade server hardware and software.
- Support wireless systems, including VLAN creation, secure guest access, and deployment of access points.
- Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures.
- Monitor and address endpoint vulnerabilities with vulnerability management software.
- Deploy approved software remotely using package deployment tools.
- Troubleshoot systems, configurations, and hardware issues in a time-critical environment.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to troubleshoot and improve the IT environment.
- Mentor and train junior team members.
- Provide technical support at both corporate and store levels.
- Offer 24/7 escalation support for IT networks and systems.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Technology or related discipline, plus at least 3 years of IT experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with LAN/WAN/SDWAN technologies, firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Experience with network troubleshooting and cybersecurity tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Customer service skills and a positive attitude, with a desire to learn new technologies and take on challenges.
- Ability to perform quick EDR support using Next-Gen AV suites.
- Experience with email filtering security.
- Knowledge of Network Security, Active Directory, Group Policy, MS Office 365, VPN, Antivirus, Backup Solutions, Vulnerability Assessment Tools, DNS Filtering, PowerShell, and Server Operating Systems.
Work & Sensory Environment:
- Part of a 24/7 on-call rotation.
- May need to sit for long periods at a workstation.
- May require lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
- Providing service to multiple departments, often under tight deadlines.
- Potential exposure to eye strain from computer use.
- Must have access to reliable transportation for site visits.
