Canucks Sports & Entertainment seeks an IT Event Support to troubleshoot software and hardware during events at Rogers Arena. You will provide first-line assistance and dispatch issues to the Technology Team.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a technical degree, possess strong IT basics, and can work evenings/weekends in a fast-paced arena setting.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a degree or diploma in a technical related area
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Basic understanding of Windows & Mac laptops, desktops, tablets, mobile devices, printers and peripherals
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Willingness to learn
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Superior interpersonal skills with end users at all levels
  • Solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with networking would be an asset
  • Onsite role at Rogers Arena

Responsibilities

  • Provide first level support on computer hardware and software issues
  • Record all calls in the Ticketing System and assign to appropriate Technology Team member
  • Ensure timely recording, tracking, escalation and resolution of end-user problems
  • Perform cabling, hardware deployment, and lifting/moving IT equipment as required
  • Update documentation and schematics as required
  • Assist in documenting user/technical service policies for products supported by the Help Desk
  • Availability to work outside normal hours (evenings and weekends)

Description

Position:IT Event Support

Reports to: Manager, IT Infrastructure

SUMMARY:

The IT Event Support will troubleshoot company supported software and hardware problems and for receiving requests for technology services during all events (i.e. hockey games, concerts, etc.). The incumbent will be responsible for providing first level assistance and for assigning/dispatching technical support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(other duties may be assigned as required)

  • Provide first level support on computer hardware and software issues
  • Ensure timely recording, tracking, escalation and resolution of end-user technical problems and requirements received via telephone, e-mail, or in person
  • Record all calls in the Ticketing System as per escalation procedures and priority settings and assign to appropriate Technology Team member

Perform cabling, hardware deployment, and lifting/moving of IT equipment as required.

  • Update documentation and schematics as required
  • Assist in documenting and communicating user/technical service policies for products supported by the Help Desk
  • Availability to work outside normal business hours i.e. evenings and weekends
