We innovated the market-leading enterprise password manager and pioneered Extended Access Management, a new cybersecurity category built for the way people and AI agents work today. As one of the most loved brands in cybersecurity, we take a human-centric approach in everything from product strategy to user experience. Over 165,000 businesses and millions of people trust us to provide seamless, secure access to their most critical information.

If you're excited about the opportunity to contribute to the digital safety of millions, to work alongside a team of curious, driven individuals, and to solve hard problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, then we want to hear from you. Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future.

We’re looking for a technically strong and systems-minded IT Engineer to lead our endpoint and device management efforts across macOS, Windows, and Linux. You'll play a key role in designing, implementing, and scaling secure, automated processes that support our growing workforce — all while keeping user experience, compliance, and operational efficiency at the forefront.

This is more than a support role: you'll help shape the future of our internal IT infrastructure. From streamlining device lifecycle workflows to driving automation and integrating modern tools, your work will directly improve how our teams operate every day.

The ideal candidate is hands-on with MDM tooling, passionate about building and improving systems (not just maintaining them), and thrives in environments where they can solve meaningful problems at scale. You bring curiosity, a collaborative mindset, and the technical depth to build thoughtful, sustainable IT solutions.

This role reports to the Manager, IT Engineering.

Due to the high volume of applicants we receive for this role, we will be closing applications on Friday, June 27th, 2025 to ensure we can review and respond to all candidates that have applied.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of technical work experience an IT engineering or systems administrator role
  • Hands-on experience managing mid-to-large (150+ employees) enterprise-level, cloud hosted MDM tooling (Windows preferred), such as Intune, Kandji, or Jamf
  • Experience administering common enterprise SaaS applications such as Google Workspace, Slack, Salesforce, Office 365, and Zoom
  • Experience working in and managing ticketing systems such as Freshservice, Jira, or Zendesk.
  • Strong understanding of modern endpoint management, device trust, conditional access, and system administration principles
  • Proven communication and documentation skills, with the ability to thrive in a remote-first, Slack-centric environment
  • Familiarity with IT service provider best practices (e.g., ITIL framework) and change management philosophies.
  • Experience balancing project-based work with unplanned escalations in a Scrum and Agile-centric (sprint-based) planning environment
  • A track record of building or improving IT systems and workflows — not just maintaining them but in building automation.
  • Proven experience setting, reporting on, and meeting ambitious device management goals/OKRs

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Ai tooling and implementation in a IT environment
  • Experience troubleshooting and managing Linux systems
  • Experience with 1Password Enterprise and Kolide
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and git workflows for IT Engineering

What You Can Expect

  • Support and manage all MDM and device management platforms (e.g. Kandji, Intune, Jamf, Workspace One, Kolide)
  • Prepare and enforce policies that align with our device health and compliance goals across Mac, Windows and Linux systems
  • Automate device lifecycle management to align with industry-leading best practices and specific departmental requirements
  • Collaborate with Security and fellow IT team members to enforce endpoint security requirements
  • Assist in troubleshooting MDM related device issues for end-users
  • Identify opportunities for IT automation with the goal of reducing gaps in workflow and operational tasks
  • Support and help scale and evolve our MDM infrastructure in collaboration with Staff and Senior IT Engineers
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and bi-weekly sprint planning with the IT Engineering team
  • Automate device and Identity and Access management processes and contribute to internal documentation
  • Be available for on-call rotational work to ensure uninterrupted support and resolve emergency incidents
  • Build cutting-edge device trust related management

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $92,000 USD and $124,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $85,000 CAD and $115,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

At 1Password, we approach each individual's compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set.

Our culture

At 1Password, we prioritize collaboration, clear and transparent communication, receptiveness to feedback, and alignment with our core values: keep it simple, lead with honesty, and put people first.

You’ll be part of a team that challenges the status quo, and is excited to experiment and iterate in search of the best solution. That said, 1Password is not for everyone. Our work is demanding, we strive for excellence, and the pace is fast. We need people who are keen to take on challenging problems, who seek feedback to grow, and who are driven to make an impact. If you're looking for a place where you can settle into a comfortable routine, this might not be the right fit for you. We’re looking for individuals who are proven experts in their fields, as well as those who are highly adaptable, can thrive in ambiguity and through change, are curious, and above all deliver results.

We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. We also understand that thinking critically about AI in its current forms will help us create better solutions for our customers and ourselves with its future forms, which will help us continue to close the gap between security and privacy and achieve our mission. We want team members at all levels to take the approach of actively learning AI best practices, identifying opportunities to apply AI in meaningful ways, and driving innovative solutions in their daily work. Embracing the future of AI isn't just encouraged at 1Password—it's an essential part of how we will be successful at 1Password.

Our approach to remote work

We believe in the power of remote work, but recognize that in-person connection is important to help us achieve our mission. While we are a remote-first company, travel for in-person engagement is a part of most roles. Frequency will depend on role and responsibilities, and may include, but is not limited to: annual department-wide offsites, team meetings, and customer/industry events.
