Overview
This position serves as a member of the leadership team and is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the organization's IT department and technical operations including cybersecurity. Primary duties include ensuring that the company's technology infrastructure is reliable, up-to-date, secure, and aligned with its strategic goals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads development and implementation processes for the organization’s IT systems and department including the supervision of the IT Technician.
- Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure. Oversee the implementation, training, and adherence to IT policies.
- Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
- Maintain integrity of all assets including hardware/software/applications to ensure proper security, licensing requirements and virus protection. Develop and deploy new security strategies to make sure that all systems and data are secure.
- Ensure server and storage solutions meet business needs.
- Assist with audits and remediation.
- Monitor for security and HIPPA compliance.
- Assist in IT budget projections and planning.
- Design, develop, install, and maintain our corporate communications networks made up of desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, switches, routers, networking hardware, cabling, and other electronic devices.
- Answer end-user inquiries regarding software and hardware to resolve issues and provide ongoing monitoring to improve responsiveness to user support and satisfaction.
- Monitor end-user support for upgrades of desktops, laptops, applications, and software to ensure end users are able to work efficiently.
- Establish and maintain documented processes and procedures related to desktop support.
- Oversee and manage access control systems to ensure timely user set up, activation and deactivation processes as new employees are hired and end employment.
- Mange the configuration, installation and maintenance of desktop PCs, laptop PCs, mobile devices, tablets, copiers, desktop printers, telephone systems, etc.
- Configuration of Windows operating system to HIPPA industry standard.
- Supervise the requisition of all computer inventory needs, hardware and software packages, and peripheral devices for the company and provide support to user departments.
- Oversees requisition of enhancements with EHR vendor, testing of updates, and management of user set up and permissions in the EHR.
- The IT Director serves as the as Security Officer by ensuring the agency is HIPAA complaint in terms of cybersecurity best practice and meets the required standards.
- Provide technical support for computer hardware and software including network (LAN/WAN) maintenance; maintenance of Network hardware and software; monitor “internet traffic” and enforce “adequate use policies;” and timely (monthly) downloading/installation of system patches.
- Installation of all hardware/software purchased/maintained by the agency; maintain a current inventory listing of said hardware/software per machine.
- Work closely with the State of Kansas in meeting compliance of monthly reporting of required data sets (AIMS) and ensure accurate and timely submission.
- Assists in the development and implementation of business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
- Maintain reliable computer network including required physical connections to servers as well as proper maintenance of user Id’s, passwords, and policies.
- Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.
Job Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
- CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals, and cloud certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect, and Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect Certifications. Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP and CIAS a plus.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive IT experience, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- A strong understanding of computer systems (both on-premises and cloud-based), networks, security, databases, software development, and various applications is essential. Understanding of IT infrastructure, network security, and cybersecurity best practices
- Effective communication (both verbal and written) with the ability to work cohesively and in cooperation across all departments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve technical challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects.
- Self-motivated to stay current with emerging technology trends and industry developments to align IT initiatives with business goals
