Your Opportunity
The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for overseeing the technological infrastructure of the company, ensuring the alignment of IT strategies with business goals. This role involves managing IT operations, leading a team of IT professionals, and driving innovation to enhance the organization's technological capabilities. The Director of IT will play a critical role in strategic planning, project management, and maintaining the security and efficiency of IT systems.
Please note this is an onsite position with travel expected between our sites in Georgetown, Brampton and Milton.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 2 IT Technicians.
- Oversee IT project coordination and management to drive Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the IT function.
- Monitor technological changes in the marketplace and ensure the company’s systems capabilities are responsive to the needs of the organization and the opportunities of the market.
- Project manage all IT-related projects from initiation to closing, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to specification (including facilitating requirements gathering as required).
- Oversee the management, design, analysis, maintenance, monitoring, planning, operation and support of Due North's computer infrastructure.
- Provide advanced technical knowledge of wired and wireless networks, voice communications, mobile devices, web applications, process improvements and lead major upgrade initiatives.
- Responsible for all aspects of EPICOR, Due North’s ERP system, including maintenance, upgrades, enhancements and system uptime.
- Identify and mitigate potential IT risks, ensuring compliance with data security, privacy regulations, and industry best practices.
- Responsible for the management and monitoring of all software and licensing at Due North which includes adhering to licensing requirements.
- Establish a base set of service level standards and manage the department to ensure these service levels are achieved and meet business needs.
- Negotiate purchase and/or maintenance contracts on hardware, software and services through effective Vendor Management ensuring that all licensing / maintenance is kept current.
- Develop, administer, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure the stability and security of the networking platform and ensure prevention of internal/external threats.
- Oversee and manage the development, review and certification of backup and disaster recovery procedures and plans.
- Prevent business critical data/systems loss by providing and monitoring server room environmental control, uninterruptible power supplies and by implementing disaster recovery and backup procedures.
You Have
- 10-15 years progressive experience in Information Technology, including 5 years’ direct experience leading a team as a Senior IT Manager in a fast-paced environment, manufacturing industry experience is an asset.
- Completion of a College Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technology-related field.
- Extensive experience with managing and upgrading workstation and server hardware and software; strong project management skills required.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows, VMware vCenter, Horizon, Microsoft SQL, IIS, AD, DNS, Microsoft 365 (Admin, Office, Teams, Azure, etc.), Meraki Network Infrastructure, VPN.
- Extensive experience with ERP systems, EPICOR is a strong asset.
- Experience with Microsoft operating systems and network technologies.
