Job description

IT Cybersecurity Officer

This position is an integral part of the London Drugs IT team and reports directly to the Operations Manager, Information Technology. The IT Cybersecurity Officer is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and management of information security systems. They also develop policies and procedures around London Drugs' security practices. The successful applicant must be able to work independently and possess strong procedural and technical skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and recommending annual resource plans supporting the Corporate Security programs.
  • Conducting security risk assessments and investigations of security violations.
  • Coordinating efforts to resolve data security issues across all business lines.
  • Providing guidance on data security, integrity, and privacy to users and custodians.
  • Developing and maintaining security policies, procedures, and standards, considering industry standards such as PCI and PIPEDA.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the data security program.
  • Planning and managing projects to ensure successful and timely completion.
  • Performing routine software maintenance and coordinating changes impacted by new updates.
  • Supporting critical maintenance activities for the Security Program.
  • Conducting Security Awareness Training through corporate and DP training areas.
  • Managing Data Classification processes and overseeing the Data Security Program.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience as a Senior System Analyst in application development, including database environments, with knowledge of designing application security controls, data management, and data analysis.

Additional requirements include a general understanding of hardware and software configurations, various business lines, imported applications, and security controls, including:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of management skills, business writing, system analysis, and the ability to evaluate and resolve security issues.
  • Thorough knowledge of data security access control software, corporate policies, DP standards, development methodologies, change control, and data management.
