Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Cyber Security Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT Security, especially in securing cloud environments for sensitive and mission-critical systems. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and M365, knowledge of NIST frameworks (including NIST 800-171), and familiarity with the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security cloud protection profiles are essential. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and managing security architectures to protect cloud infrastructure and applications in a complex, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Architecture Design: Lead the development of secure on-premise and cloud architectures in AWS, Azure, and M365, ensuring compliance with security policies and industry standards.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure solutions meet NIST standards and Canadian Centre for Cyber Security profiles; assess and mitigate risks.
- Cloud Platform Security: Manage security controls such as IAM, encryption, network security, monitoring, and incident response.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with security, engineering, and DevOps teams to align security strategies with business goals.
- Monitoring and Incident Response: Support security monitoring and incident investigations in cloud environments.
- Security Policies: Develop and enforce cloud security policies and procedures.
- Audits and Assessments: Support security assessments and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and improvements.
- Training and Mentorship: Guide junior team members on cloud security best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of IT Security experience in the defense or government sector, focusing on cloud security.
- Proven experience with AWS, Azure, and M365 security solutions.
- Deep knowledge of NIST frameworks, including NIST 800-171, and Canadian cyber security profiles.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, or Azure Security Engineer.
- Experience with risk assessments, security controls, and compliance requirements for federal and defense sectors.
- Strong understanding of network security, IAM, encryption, firewalls, and security automation.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Must be eligible to work in Canada as a Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with security automation tools, DevSecOps, threat intelligence, and orchestration platforms.
- Knowledge of additional frameworks like ISO 27001, CIS, and SOC2, and familiarity with government compliance programs.
