Job summary

Survalent is seeking a Cloud & DevOps Engineer to design, secure, and optimize cloud environments across Azure and AWS, with a focus on automation, IaC, CI/CD, and high-availability architectures.

You will work on Hub-and-Spoke networks, security controls, monitoring, and disaster recovery in a full-time, on-site role in Mississauga, contributing to ISO 27001, SOC 2, and QMS compliance while supporting critical utility infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science; Information Technology; Computer Engineering; Cybersecurity; Related technical discipline, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps roles.
• 3+ years administering both Azure and AWS environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud environments in Azure and AWS.
• Manage VMs, storage, databases, containers, serverless workloads, and networking services.
• Support SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS solutions used by Survalent and customers.
• Administer Azure VNets, AWS VPCs, subnets, route tables, and security controls.
• Monitor cloud environments for performance, cost, availability, and security compliance.
• Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines; implement IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, and PowerShell.
• Automate tasks and deployment processes; integrate monitoring and alerting.
• Support security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives.

You’ll work hands-on with DevOps automation, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, cloud security, networking, and high-availability solutions. Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Cloud Infrastructure Administration

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud environments in Azure and AWS.
• Manage virtual machines, storage accounts, databases, containers, serverless workloads, and networking services.
• Support SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS solutions utilized by Survalent and its customers.
• Administer Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), AWS VPCs, subnets, route tables, and security controls.
• Monitor cloud environments for performance, cost optimization, availability, and security compliance.
• Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.

DevOps & Automation

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software development and deployment.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as:
• Terraform
• AWS CloudFormation
• PowerShell
• Automate operational tasks and deployment processes.
• Integrate cloud-native monitoring and alerting solutions.
• Support source control and DevOps best practices using Azure DevOps and Git platforms.

Network & Security Architecture

• Design and deploy secure Hub-and-Spoke cloud networking architectures.
• Configure and maintain:
• Load Balancers
• Reverse Proxies
• Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
• VPN Gateways
• S2S / P2S VPN
• Manage DNS services, routing policies, traffic management, and security groups.
• Support Zero Trust architecture and cloud security best practices.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams on security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives.

Monitoring & Reliability

• Maintain monitoring dashboards and automated alerting solutions.
• Troubleshoot system outages, networking issues, performance bottlenecks, and cloud service disruptions.
• Conduct root cause analysis and document corrective actions.
• Participate in on-call support and incident response activities as required.

Documentation & Compliance

• Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, SOPs, and operational documentation.
• Support compliance initiatives including:
• Comply with Survalent’ s ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information Security Management System (ISMS) Policy.
• SOC 2
• Comply with Survalent’ s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) Policy.
• Participate in audits and continuous improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Knowledge, Skilled and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science; Information Technology; Computer Engineering; Cybersecurity; Related technical discipline, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps roles.
• 3+ years administering both Azure and AWS environments.
• Experience supporting production and customer-facing cloud platforms.
• Experience working with high-availability and mission-critical systems

This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Senior IT Manager. The salary range for this role is $90,000 – $110,000.
