About The IT Client Services Technician Role

Reporting to the Manager, Help and Support, the IT Client Services Technician supports the delivery of various technical services to Humber’s students, employees, suppliers, and guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responding to technical inquiries.
  • Resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Advising and coaching clients on technology use.
  • Maintaining and deploying equipment.
  • Supporting classrooms, labs, and meeting spaces.
  • Troubleshooting network and connectivity issues.
  • Assisting with high-impact service requests.
  • Supporting evolving technologies through testing and research.

About You

Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related studies or equivalent relevant experience.
  • ITIL Foundations certification from a recognized authority.
  • HDI Desktop Support Technician certification or relevant training and / or experience.
  • Minimum of three years of related work experience providing technical support in a busy high-volume environment to clients with diverse backgrounds, preferably in an academic environment.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience providing software and hardware technical support on MS Windows, Mac OS, iOS and Android devices.
  • Experience with BMC Remedy / Helix, Jira, Monday.com and MS Teams is a strong asset.
  • Fundamental understanding of the Information Technology industry and technology solutions including hardware, software, licensing, and services.
  • Proven superior customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide clear verbal and written direction to various technical personnel and teams.
  • Must demonstrate problem solving, creative thinking and analytical skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to multitask.
  • Work well under pressure.
