IT Business Intelligence Analyst - (Remote - Boucherville)

Position is REMOTE: The selected candidate must reside within 250 km of our BOUCHERVILLE (Qc) office.

Your Role:
- Identify, evaluate, document, and validate technical, functional, and business needs to improve existing computer systems and implement new solutions.
- Design, document, and execute various tests (unit, functional, automated) to validate the quality and functionality of programs.
- Collaborate with internal development teams and external partners to deliver BI solutions.
- Apply experience in Business Intelligence (BI) to provide effective solutions.
- Understand the software development life cycle, write scripts, and review solutions implemented by other developers to identify and resolve bugs.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills.
- Organize and document work rigorously, ensuring clarity and attention to detail.
- Contribute to project management activities, including defining and estimating project effort, identifying risks, recommending mitigation strategies, and communicating project status.
- Ensure timely notification and escalation of issues to the Team Leader or Project Manager.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess the impact of solutions on existing processes and systems and manage integration effectively.
- Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage your workload to deliver high-quality results and meet deadlines.
- Prioritize tasks appropriately based on project needs, deadlines, and resource availability.
- Be available to provide support outside of regular office hours, if needed.
Tools and Technologies:
- Proficiency in SQL Server and SQL language.
- Knowledge of Oracle (SQL and PL/SQL).
- Experience with Power BI and other reporting software (MicroStrategy is a plus).
- Familiarity with Azure Analysis Services and Visual Studio (Microsoft Analysis Services Project).
- Strong understanding of Relational Database Management Systems and relational model principles.
- Advanced Power BI skills, including Power Query, DAX, and Tabular Model Scripting Language for data model creation and reporting.
- Experience with Tabular Editor and DAX Studio is a plus.
- Strong SQL Server knowledge and understanding of relational modeling principles.
- Advanced Excel and VBA skills; knowledge of Access is an asset.
- Knowledge of Progress OpenEdge (SQL) is an asset.
- Experience with data warehousing platforms like Snowflake, Oracle Database or Google BigQuery.
- Proficient in working with cloud-based and on-premise data storage solutions to support large-scale data analytics and business intelligence.
- Understanding of data security, privacy policies, and governance frameworks.

Performance and Reporting:
- Track and measure BI system performance and effectiveness.
- Present actionable insights to senior management to drive decision-making.
- Deliver clear and concise reports that provide value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in the BI space.
- Interest in staying up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in Business Intelligence and Analytics.
