Job Description

The IT Business Analyst - Data and Controls role is to support the Business Applications team in the planning, design, development, and support of efficient business systems within core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The role may involve designing, building, testing, and analyzing integrations, performing application configurations, and report development. The IT Business Analyst is also responsible for generating reports based on findings, identifying causes, and proposing solutions to system issues. Supporting and managing integrations across multiple applications and supporting risk management are key functions of this role. The individual will apply communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to maximize IT system investments.

Responsibilities

Health and Safety:
  • Maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Follow company health and safety standards and report unsafe acts or conditions.
Strategy and Planning:
  • Meet with decision makers, system owners, and end users to define requirements and goals, and resolve system issues.
  • Review and analyze existing systems for effectiveness and efficiency, and develop improvement strategies.
  • Define scope and parameters of systems analysis to establish outcome criteria.
Acquisition and Deployment:
  • Collaborate on the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements.
  • Research software and hardware to support purchasing decisions.
  • Perform cost-benefit and ROI analyses for proposed systems.
Operations Management:
  • Prepare and deliver reports and recommendations to improve systems.
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house systems.
  • Optimize query performance and amend errors promptly.
  • Prepare status reports and perform testing on new or modified systems.
  • Assist project teams with implementation and upgrades.
  • Configure and maintain applications, including user security and configurations.
  • Manage user access, roles, and security in Oracle Integration Cloud and Oracle BI/OTBI.
  • Support risk management models and controls, including migrations and deployments.
  • Administer scheduled jobs within Oracle Fusion ERP, HCM, and RMC.
  • Coordinate with Oracle Support for issue resolution.

Other duties as required to support the IT Business Applications team.

Qualifications

Education:

College diploma or university degree in business administration, computer science, or MIS, with 3 years of related experience.

Work Experience:
  • At least 3 years’ experience supporting software systems in a global environment.
  • Preferred: 2 years’ experience with Oracle Risk Management Cloud and Oracle Integration Cloud.
Knowledge Required:
  • Technical and administrative experience with applications and integrations.
  • Expertise in Oracle Integration Cloud, including features like Mappings, Lookups, Connections, XSLT.
  • Experience with Web Services, SOAP, REST, JSON, XML.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Fusion modules and related applications.
  • Project management skills; PMP is an asset.
