IT Business Analyst (Banking / Finance)

Our client in the insurance industry is launching a new project in the financial risk domain, focused on data analytics, regulatory reporting, and advanced insights. This role sits within Corporate Functions Technology and collaborates across risk, marketing, HR, and finance stakeholders.

What is in it for you:

  1. Salaried: $68 to $73 per hour.
  2. Incorporated Business Rate: $82 to $88 per hour.
  3. 9-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
  4. Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
  5. Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.
  6. Hybrid work: 3 office days, from Tuesday to Thursday.

Responsibilities:

  1. Meet with end users to define data and reporting needs.
  2. Use Microsoft-based technology stack to develop solutions.
  3. Collaborate with architects, data office, and AML teams.
  4. Coordinate across stakeholders to address requests and follow best practices.
  5. Provide project details and input to architecture teams.
  6. Guide offshore junior resources and support solution execution using Azure, SQL Server, Power BI, and Power Apps.

What you will need to succeed:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical or mathematical field.
  2. Master's degree preferred.
  3. 10+ years of experience in development technologies.
  4. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Azure.
  5. Proven experience building OLAP and OLTP-based data analytics and business intelligence systems.
  6. Skilled in middleware integration tools such as Kafka and BizTalk.
  7. Strong experience gathering and documenting business requirements (BRD).
  8. Hands-on expertise in Power BI, including preparing data models for reporting.
  9. Familiarity with Synapse, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
  10. Previous exposure to financial risk, banking, insurance, or retention management domains is considered an asset.
  11. Strong communication skills.
  12. Effective stakeholder management.
  13. Excellent time management.
  14. High adaptability in dynamic environments.
  15. Strong problem-solving abilities.
