Overview:
Our client is seeking a technology-minded professional to join the Internal Audit (IA) team as an IT Auditor. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in enhancing the firm’s oversight of IT-related risks, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, and cybersecurity. You will contribute to delivering high-impact audits, advising on emerging technologies, and supporting the firm’s operational resilience in an evolving digital landscape.The IA team, primarily based in Vancouver, supports the firm’s global operations by providing independent assurance across a wide range of risk areas. As a central function with firm-wide reach, the IA team offers valuable exposure to diverse business processes and strategic initiatives. What you will be doing:
Plan, execute, and report on risk-based audits of IT processes, systems, and controls, including cloud-hosted environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and SaaS platforms.
Evaluate the effectiveness of IT governance, information security, change management, data integrity, disaster recovery, and third-party oversight practices.
Assess compliance with internal policies, relevant regulations, and industry standards.
Conduct independent research on industry trends and provide consultative guidance to enhance operational resilience and efficiency.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across IT, Risk, and Compliance functions.
Communicate audit findings and risk implications clearly to senior management and ensure appropriate follow-up on remediation efforts.
Support continuous improvement within the IA team, including innovation in data analytics, automation, and risk assessment methodologies.
What you must have:
Preferred qualifications include a background in technical fields such as Computer Science or Information Technology. Non-technical qualifications may also be considered, provided they are supported by relevant professional experience.
Ideally a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience, preferably within the financial services industry, with a proven track record of success.
Demonstrated expertise in the following areas would be considered an asset:
IT general controls (ITGCs) and application controls
Cloud computing and SaaS platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure)
Applicable cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001)
Hold, or willing to pursue, a relevant professional certification (CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CCSP, CIA, etc.)
Salary/Rate Range: $100,000 – $130,000/annually CAD
