Job summary

Sun Life IT Audit Manager position in Canada focuses on complex technology audits across North America, with emphasis on automation of IT audit activity and data analytics. Join a hybrid team driving risk-aware outcomes and collaboration with business groups to safeguard information systems.

The role requires leadership of audit teams, deep COSO knowledge, and a strong background in IT governance and analytics to deliver high-quality assurance across diverse processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in IT, engineering, accounting or related field with an audit designation (CPA/CIA/CISA) preferred.
• At least 5 years IT auditing and data analytics experience in a client-facing, matrix environment.
• Big 4 or large firm experience in risk and controls consulting is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of COSO internal control framework and governance.

Responsibilities

• Supervises other audit managers or auditors on projects and coaches staff.
• Identifies IT risks in planning, implementation and operation and develops risk objectives and audit programs.
• Assesses technology projects, apps and IT operations to ensure risk is managed and new capabilities are added.
• Develops testing strategies for systems delivery, production support and asset/vulnerability management.
• Automates IT audit activity using CAATs and analytics where possible.
• Supports technology/data-related components of audits and projects.
• Influences IT management on risk and control decisions to foster a strong control environment.
• Acts as SME in information technology, digital and data analytics and defines coverage strategy for sub units.
