Job summary

Saputo Inc. is seeking an IT Architect, Enterprise Architecture to design, develop, and support enterprise-wide processes and solutions. You will drive scalable, secure architectures and collaborate with IT and business teams to meet global objectives.

Lead architecture roadmaps, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote modern practices like API-first and microservices while aligning with TOGAF principles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
  • TOGAF, Zachman, or similar Enterprise Architecture certification strongly preferred.
  • Cloud certification in Microsoft Azure is an asset.
  • Certifications in ITIL and COBIT would be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Architecture with developing and maintaining the enterprise architecture vision, principles, and standards.
  • Maintain multi-year architecture roadmaps aligned with business strategy and IT priorities.
  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to ensure architecture supports innovation, agility, and cost optimization.
  • Govern solution designs to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture principles and security requirements.
  • Champion modern architecture practices such as cloud-native, microservices, API-first, and event-driven architectures.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business language for executive stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology strategy and investments.
  • Use KPIs to measure architecture effectiveness and guide continuous improvement.
  • Ensure data architecture supports analytics, AI, and regulatory needs.
  • Ensure architecture decisions comply with regulatory requirements (data privacy, cybersecurity).
  • Identify architectural risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Stay current on SAP leading practices and developments.

Overview of the role:

Saputo is seeking an IT Architect, Enterprise Architecture. The IT Architect is an expert in the design, development and support of enterprise-wide processes & solutions. The role supports both IT and global business requirements, works closely with and across multiple functional teams, and ensures designed solutions integrate well within and across business process areas.

Designing scalable, secure, and future‑ready solutions that enable digital transformation and operational excellence, while applying leading practices and compliance with architectural standards, architecture principles and framework (such as TOGAF). The IT Architect maintains roadmaps across applications, data, infrastructure, and security domains, translates business requirements into solution designs, and supports prioritization of requirements to achieve end‑state objectives.

How you will make contributions that matter:
  • Provide support to the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Architecture with developing and maintaining the enterprise architecture vision, principles, and standards to guide technology decisions.
  • Take ownership of maintaining our multi‑year architecture roadmaps aligned with business strategy and IT priorities.
  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders, including Cyber Security, to ensure architecture supports innovation, agility, and cost optimization.
  • Govern solution designs to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture principles and security requirements.
  • Help drive adoption of modern architecture practices such as cloud‑native, microservices, API‑first, and event‑driven architectures.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business‑friendly language for executive stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology strategy and investment decisions.
  • Use KPIs to measure architecture effectiveness (e.g., reuse rate, compliance score, technical debt reduction) with an eye toward continuous improvement.
  • Ensure data architecture supports analytics, AI, and regulatory needs.
  • Ensure architecture decisions comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., data privacy, cybersecurity frameworks).
  • Proactively identify architectural risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Keep up to date on SAP leading practices and developments.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
  • Strong ability to design solutions aligned with Enterprise Architecture principles.
  • Proven ability ensuring solutions are scalable, using sound integration with security compliance.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to engage senior executives and technical teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach to delivering results.
  • Proven ability delivering solution architecture documents.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
  • TOGAF, Zachman, or similar Enterprise Architecture certification strongly preferred.
  • Cloud certification in Microsoft Azure is an asset.
  • Certifications in ITIL and COBIT would be highly beneficial.
Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years in enterprise architecture IT roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in large‑scale digital transformation initiatives.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, integration technologies, and modern application architectures.
  • Proven track record in developing architecture governance frameworks and standards.
Technical Skills
  • Expertise in architecture domains: application, data, infrastructure, and security.
  • Proficiency with integration platforms (e.g., SAP BTP Integration Suite) and RPA tools (e.g., Automation Anywhere).
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP ERP and its related business applications.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing, APIs, microservices, and containerization.
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and middleware technologies.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and compliance frameworks.
Leadership & Soft Skills
  • Leadership and team‑building capabilities with demonstrated ability to lead by example in a hands‑on technical environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in business terms and work effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Change management and organizational influence skills.
  • High degree of initiative, accountability, and ownership.
Other Assets
  • Experience in the dairy or broader manufacturing CPG industry.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI/ML, IoT, and blockchain.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Multilingual (English required; French is an asset).

Salary

Salary: $117,560 to $154,300. Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
