In this role within Engineering Operations, you’ll be part of a team recognized for its customer-service mindset and dedication to 24/7 infrastructure operations. The team handles the full lifecycle for IT components: installation, maintenance, decommissioning, system performance, capacity, availability, migration, and more. Responsibilities:
  • Lead strategic technology initiatives, infrastructure management, and related projects
  • Deliver 24/7 operations and ensure KPI compliance and audit readiness
  • Manage remote sites and third-party vendor activities
  • Maintain and manage Business Continuity Plans (BCP)
  • Capture business requirements for DC capacity planning
  • Ensure database compliance with audit regulations
  • Support applications and systems in alignment with service levels
  • Schedule and plan equipment installs and cabling requests
  • Engage stakeholders to improve production environment stability
  • Lead data center infrastructure support
  • Participate in procedures, reviews, and implementations
  • Research and recommend best practices and technologies
  • Deliver quality service aligned with client requirements
  • Manage incident resolution and escalation
  • Ensure application requirements (functional, security, performance) are met
  • Proficient use of fluke testers, fiber testers, and scanners
  • Knowledge of data center power, space, and cooling interdependencies
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide technology insights to functional areas
  • Participate in infrastructure evolution and technology deployments
  • Deploy infrastructure components across environments
  • Follow and enforce change management protocols
  • Monitor system lifecycles and architecture alignment
  • Use metrics to track environment performance
  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Occasional travel between sites required
Requirements:
  • Vendor management, data center operations, and documentation experience
  • Network engineering and production operations support knowledge
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and cost control skills
  • Understanding of infrastructure/application interdependencies
  • Familiarity with private/public cloud infrastructure and physical DC security
  • Functional knowledge of project management principles
  • Ability to translate tech solutions to business needs
  • Independent working ability in senior/lead roles
  • Subject matter expert in technical guidance and problem resolution
  • Proficient in ServiceNow and Microsoft Office products
  • Preferred: College degree in tech-related major, or Technical Certificate
  • 5–10 years of data center management, including IT hardware and cable infrastructure
  • Fast learner of new technologies
Additional Notes:
  • On-call: Once a month typically (may vary based on business needs)
  • After-hours support required for data center operations
  • Travel: Local travel to Barrie as needed; Scarborough location 99% of the time
