Mr. Lawnmower Irrigation Technician is looking to hire an Irrigation Technician.

Here we grow again! If you enjoy working outdoors and have experience mowing lawns, a career in the Horticultural Industry might be for you. Horticultural companies work to preserve and enhance landscapes, from simple lawn care to elaborate turf, trees, and landscape elements at luxury resorts.

Since maintaining attractive landscapes is in high demand, there is rarely a shortage of work for horticultural professionals. This is not just a summer lawn-mowing job anymore!

At Mr. Lawnmower, based in Scarborough, we are seeking energetic and motivated individuals with strong leadership qualities and attention to detail. We are currently hiring for Irrigation Foreman and Irrigation Technicians. Candidates must be dependable, honest, and trustworthy. References are mandatory.

Overview

• Apply irrigation throughout the park following a specific schedule.
• This position pays $18.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in operation and maintenance of automated/manual commercial and residential irrigation systems.
• Certified Irrigation Technician status (Landscape Ontario) or equivalent is an asset.
• Knowledge of plumbing techniques, turf maintenance equipment operation, and practices.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working in various weather conditions.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license (G/G2).
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Own CSA-approved safety footwear.
• Availability to work from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm during spring, summer, and fall, and possible shifts from 12:00 am to 9:00 am during the irrigation season, including overtime and weekends.
• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate existing park irrigation system to implement turf irrigation programs efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and repair system components such as heads, valves, and piping.
• Assist in installing modifications or new systems.
• Support turf maintenance activities like top dressing, seeding, turf repair, and sod laying.
• Perform line trimming and backpack blowing as needed.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
