Job description

JOB TITLE: IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN

EXEMPT: NO

REPORTS TO: Account Manager DAYS: MONDAY - FRIDAY

SUMMARY: The Irrigation Technicians are responsible for the repair and replacement of irrigation systems. They perform a variety of mechanical and electrical tests on irrigation systems, assemblies, and parts to ensure the units are operating properly.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  1. Accurately diagnose irrigation equipment problems
  2. Provide accurate reports, controller mapping and chart descriptions
  3. Programming standard and smart controllers
  4. Troubleshooting and repairing irrigation valves, heads, laterals, mainline, and controllers
  5. After-hours emergency calls
  6. Familiar with drip systems
  7. Work Safely
  8. Will conduct walk-through with Account Manager and fellow employees
  9. Other duties may be assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to effectively understand and communicate with the manager and fellow crewmembers.
  2. High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  3. Landscape maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)
  4. Irrigation: 1 year (Required)
  5. Bilingual Spanish is a plus
  6. Must possess a valid California driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the Company's insurance carrier.
  7. A desire to excel, be punctual, and helpful
  8. An interest in learning new skills and growing with our company

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Prolonged periods standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, and pulling
  2. Must be physically able to operate power equipment
  3. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions
  4. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
