Job description

Recruitment services - post a job, find a job.

Good work starts with a good crew - and we’re looking to add to ours.

If you enjoy hands‑on work, solving practical problems and seeing the results of your effort, you could fit in well at Rigpoint. We’re looking for a Rigger / Ironworker who brings a positive attitude, takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a capable crew.

We’re hiring with room for both experience and potential. You might be an experienced worker ready to take on a leadership role, an apprentice developing your skills or someone looking to get started in a trade. We’re interested in what you bring today and what you’re willing to learn.

We provide crane, rigging and specialized lifting services throughout Southern Alberta. Our approach is simple: “How can we help?" We figure it out and get it done.

Our team

We’re a small, busy team. We take our work seriously, enjoy a laugh and appreciate people who pitch in, communicate well and follow through.

Our work takes planning, cooperation and attention to detail. We value people who think ahead, take care of equipment and help keep the day running smoothly. We also appreciate someone who can offer an idea, ask a question or recognize when a teammate could use a hand.

Nobody comes in knowing everything. We’re happy to share what we know and support someone who wants to learn.

What you’ll do
  • Help plan and prepare for jobs by gathering the tools, rigging and equipment needed and discussing the work with the crew.
  • Inspect, select and use appropriate rigging for each load and lift plan, within your training and qualifications.
  • Rig, move and position machinery, equipment, structural steel and other heavy or oversized loads.
  • Work closely with crane operators, using established hand signals and radio communication to guide safe load movement and placement.
  • Assist with the assembly, installation and securing of structural steel and other components, as required.
  • Help set up and take down cranes and lifting equipment, within your training and assigned responsibilities.
  • Load, unload and secure tools, rigging, equipment and materials for transport.
  • Assess site conditions with the crew, identify hazards and help work through practical solutions as job requirements change.
  • Follow lift plans and safe work procedures, check that the load’s travel path and landing area are ready, and speak up when something needs attention.
  • Inspect and care for tools and rigging, remove damaged gear from service and keep equipment organized for the next job.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors and other trades, and help the crew see each job through from preparation to cleanup.
What we’re looking for
  • Reliability: You show up prepared, follow through and understand that the crew is counting on you.
  • Safety judgment: You think before acting and ask questions instead of guessing.
  • Ownership: You take care of equipment, own your mistakes and help solve problems.
  • Teamwork: You take direction respectfully, communicate clearly and lend a hand.
  • Initiative: You look ahead, stay productive and notice what needs attention.
  • Pride in your work: You care about how the job is done, not just whether it’s finished.

This work is physically demanding and takes place outdoors and in industrial environments. Extended hours and variable schedules are part of meeting job requirements.

We can teach a lot of things. A good attitude, dependable effort and the willingness to learn need to come from you.
