Position Overview

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) provides civil, electrical, and mechanical services. We are hiring skilled craft candidates dedicated to safety and our zero-injury culture. We are seeking Ironworker Apprentices & Journeypersons to fabricate and install structural steel, ornamental work, and pre-cast structures, reading blueprints and ensuring structural integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications.
• Unload, stack, and hoist steel components.
• Erect scaffolding, cranes, and other equipment.
• Assemble rigging to move heavy materials.
• Operate cranes and direct movements with signals.
• Position, align, and bolt steel structures.
• Check alignment and plumbness.
• Assemble and erect prefabricated structures, including welding.
• Install ornamental and structural metalwork.
• Work alongside welders.
• Mentor apprentices and oversee safety.

Requirements and Experience

• Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket or in an apprenticeship program.
• CSTS-20 Certificate.
• Fall Protection – In Class.
• Mobile Elevated Work Platform – In Class.
• Experience in industrial construction as an Ironworker.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Lift up to 25kg.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Strong safety knowledge.

Location: Leroy SK, Sherwood Park AB

Rate: $29.57 to $50.00/hour, depending on level and project.

Overtime: As per collective agreement.

Schedule: Project-specific, 14/7 or 5/2.

Camp: BHP Wet Mill.

Allowances: Travel allowance based on proof of residence at BHP Wet Mill.
