Main Responsibilities

1. Read and interpret blueprints.
2. Unload or stack steel parts.
3. Erect and install scaffolding, hoisting equipment, and rigging.
4. Assemble and erect modules, vessels, and fabricated metal structures to engineered and quality standards.
5. Rigging of steel beams, columns, pipes, and signal cranes.
6. Align and weld or bolt steel units in place.
7. Assemble and erect pre-fabricated metal structures.
8. Examine structures and equipment for deterioration, defects, or non-compliance with specifications.
9. Dismantle structures and equipment when required.
10. Understand and follow all company and site safety protocols.
11. Inspect and ensure the safe use of all equipment, tools, and vehicles.

Required Skills

1. High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others.
2. Perform heavy maintenance work involving climbing, rigging, and exposure to high-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems, in accordance with all safety procedures.
3. Ability to work safely at heights.
4. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and blueprints.
5. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
6. Practical problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Additional Requirements for Ironworker - Journeyman

• Valid Red Seal or Journeyman Certificate recognized in Alberta.
• OSSA Fall Protection certification.
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certification.
• Permit Training is an asset.

Working Conditions

• Location: Edmonton, AB.
• Shift Cycle: 6 days on, 1 day off, based on a 4 days on, 3 days off schedule (subject to change).
• Night shifts.
• Ability to lift and carry objects independently or as part of a team.
• Meet and maintain site access requirements.
