Job summary

OCL Group Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Ironworker for a turnaround at CNRL Horizon, IPL Pioneer 2 Facility. The role involves safety-first work on a 10/4 schedule, switching to 6/1 for three weeks, then back to 10/4, with 10-hour days pre/post turnaround and 12-hour days during execution.

LOA provided. Ideal candidates have strong rigging, fitting and steel erecting experience, and hold CSTS-09, WHMIS 2015, H2S Alive and Fall Protection tickets.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Ironworker Certification required.
  • Experience with multiplate assembly is preferred.
  • Industrial setting experience is an asset.
  • Strong rigging, fitting and steel erecting experience is required.
  • Must hold valid safety tickets CSTS-09, WHMIS 2015, H2S Alive, Fall Protection.
  • Commitment to safety and quality processes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Eligible to work in Canada and able to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and project drawings.
  • Install and align structural steel components including columns, beams and platforms.
  • Use cranes, rigging and hoisting equipment to lift and position heavy materials.
  • Bolt, weld or rivet steel assemblies per engineered specifications.
  • Work on elevated platforms and scaffolding within confined spaces.
  • Ensure proper handling and installation of steel per safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other trades to meet schedule deadlines.
  • Adhere to OCL Group safety procedures.

About The Role

We are currently recruiting experienced Journeyman Ironworker to join our team for a turnaround at CNRL Horizon, IPL Pioneer 2 Facility. The successful candidate will work in a safety-first environment on a 10/4 schedule which switches to 6/1 for 3 weeks and then back to 10/4 schedule. You will be working 10hrs per day for pre and post turnaround, 12hrs per day during execution. LOA is provided.


Job Duties/Responsibilities


  • Read and interpret blueprints and project drawings

  • Ensure proper handling and installation of steel in accordance with environmental and project safety regulations

  • Collaborate with other trades and disciplines to meet schedule deadlines

  • Adhere to OCL Group safety procedures.


Skills/Education/Qualifications


  • Journeyperson Ironworker Certification

  • Experience with multiplate assembly is preferred and considered an asset.

  • Previous experience working in an industrial setting is an asset

  • Strong rigging, fitting and steel erecting experience

  • Must have valid safety tickets:

  • CSTS-09, WHMIS 2015, H2S Alive, Fall Protection.

  • Ensure a safe team environment

  • Adhere to all company and worksite safety and quality processes and procedures.

  • Strong communication skills

  • Desire to work in a team environment

  • Comfortable working outside in various weather conditions

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
