Iron Crew Labourer

Reporting to: Foreperson

Location: Ottawa and surrounding area

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the installation and erection of structural iron and steel for buildings, bridges, and other structures
  • Unloading and positioning steel components for assembly and installation
  • Using hand and power tools to align, bolt, weld, and rivet iron and steel structures
  • Assisting in the assembly and installation of steel girders, columns, and other structural components
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a safe work environment
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the crew leader or supervisor

Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in ironwork or assisting ironworkers
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 to 75 lbs on a regular basis
  • Valid driver’s license and own mode of transportation required
  • Work in all weather conditions
