The IRM Strategy, Planning, and Governance Manager plays a pivotal role in Manulife’s Global Information Risk Management (IRM) organization. You will be integral to the Strategy, Planning, and Governance (SPG) Team, focusing on our Technology Risk Culture Program, overseeing first-line education initiatives and supporting other general SPG initiatives. This role works very closely with partners in Global Communications and L1B collaborators on a regular basis, providing the opportunity to engage with leaders and SMEs across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Technology Risk Culture Program. Collaborate to design and enhance training and educational initiatives, promoting a comprehensive understanding of technology risks across the organization. This includes supporting the content for the Information Protection Education Program, coordinating specialized training sessions for new and updated Information Risk Management policies and standards, and developing quarterly Information Protection awareness campaigns & communications that are shared Company-wide. Your efforts will ensure these programs are engaging, informative, and aligned with organizational goals to cultivate a proactive risk culture.
  • Education Oversight and Challenge. Assist in developing and implementing a new independent oversight and challenge function for education and training activities across the first line of defense. This involves designing processes to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of training programs, ensuring they meet organizational standards and contribute to a strong risk management culture. Your role will include collaborating with collaborators to align these activities with strategic objectives and fostering continuous improvement in risk education.
  • IRM Strategy, Planning and Governance Initiatives. Support various IRM operations, such as coordinating Town Halls and team events, to enhance communication and collaboration across the organization. This involves logistical planning, content development, and collaborator engagement to ensure these events are impactful and aligned with strategic objectives. Your contributions will drive the successful implementation of IRM strategies and initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Communication or Education within a complex, global enterprise.
  • Experience inthe areas of Information Technology, Risk Management, and/or Audit within a complex, global enterprise a plus.
  • University degree (Communication or Education preferred), or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including ability to explain highly technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration, problem solving, and influencing skills in a highly matrixed and dynamic organization.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and changing priorities.

Salary range is expected to be between

$94,220.00 CAD - $174,980.00 CAD
