Job summary

Extendicare Mapleview is seeking an IPAC Manager in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, to lead the home’s infection prevention and control program. You will work with regional leadership to implement, audit, and continuously improve IPAC practices in a long-term care setting.

The role requires a related bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years in healthcare, with 2–3 years in IPAC leadership. CIC certification is preferred or can be pursued by April 2025.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Microbiology, Life Science or related field.
• 3–5 years healthcare experience, 2–3 years IPAC lead/supervisory.
• CIC certification preferred or willingness to complete by April 2025.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and develop the home’s IPAC program with regional leadership input.
• Supervise all IPAC staff and ensure policy compliance.
• Ensure IPAC activities align with provincial standards and Extendicare policies.
• Lead outbreak management protocols in partnership with IPAC Consultant.
