Job summary

• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the funding strategy, investment oversight, and overall financial stewardship of the plan.
• Work with the Plan Actuary to oversee valuations, funding assumptions, and long-range funding strategy.
• Evaluate funding risk, benefit sustainability, and regulatory compliance for the Board and senior leadership.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for forward-looking decisions.
• Manage relationships with actuarial consultants, auditors, and investment managers.
• Collaborate with Directors to weave funding and investment considerations into enterprise strategy and risk management.

A major North American bank that plays a leading role in the Canadian pension and retirement savings space are looking to bring on an Investment Actuary to lead financial stewardship for one of their specialized institutional pension plans. What You'll Do

• Own the funding strategy, investment oversight, and overall financial stewardship of the plan, ensuring its long-term sustainability and alignment with regulatory and strategic objectives.
• Work hand-in-hand with the Plan Actuary to oversee actuarial valuations, funding assumptions, and long-range funding strategy.
• Evaluate funding risk, benefit sustainability, and regulatory compliance, translating complex analysis into clear recommendations for the Board and senior leadership.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support sound, forward-looking decision-making.
• Manage relationships with key external partners - actuarial consultants, auditors, and investment managers.
• Collaborate with peer Directors across the organization to weave funding and investment considerations into broader enterprise strategy and risk management.
