What this role is all about :

The Investment Specialist promotes financial wellness for all by contributing to the growth of Wealth Management business, providing financial and investment advice, gathering external assets, acting on internal referrals, and managing a portfolio of relationships. The incumbent works collaboratively with all credit union and subsidiary staff to proactively network, build relationships, and seek business development opportunities with members and non-members. The Investment Specialist is mobile, representing multiple branches, and is committed to service excellence. The successful candidate will cover the Osoyoos, Oliver, Penticton, and Summerland branches.

What you’ll do :

Investment Advice and Portfolio Management

  • Provides high-calibre financial and investment advice and services to members.
  • Manages a member portfolio for accounts less than $,, focused primarily on mutual funds and GICs.
  • Manages portfolio growth by meeting sales and referral targets and increasing product and service penetration of existing members.
  • Maintains and continually updates financial advising and investment product knowledge.

Sales and Business Development

  • Develops business from external sources, within the current book, and with the Beem membership.
  • Builds an annual business plan in collaboration with Branch Managers.
  • Participates in branch marketing plans and campaigns to promote investment and other product growth.
  • Seeks opportunities to cross-sell other Beem products and refer members to appropriate representatives.
  • Develops awareness of competitor products, services, and marketing initiatives.
  • Provides guidance, coaching, and mentoring to branch and team members.
  • Educates and mentors branch employees in best practices for cross-selling and referrals.
  • Collaborates with Beem employees to cross-sell banking and insurance products.

Community Investment

  • Represents and promotes Beem in the community through participation in local activities and functions.
  • Leads and/or participates in Beem-sponsored educational seminars and information sessions.
  • Builds and maintains positive community and business relationships.

Compliance & Regulatory

Adheres to regulatory, compliance, and ethical standards.

  • Post-secondary business degree or diploma.
  • Successful completion of the Investment Funds in Canada Course (IFIC) or Canadian Securities Course (CSC) (Preferred).
  • Registration with CIRO MF or INV.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Completion of the LLQP for Life and Accident & Sickness license is an asset.
