Provides financial and investment planning and advice to deliver solutions in the best interests of the customer. Determines client needs and provides solutions through the sales of managed products and services (e.g., mutual funds, retirement savings plans). Offers other solutions indirectly via referrals to business partners.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively engage with new and existing customers to provide needs-based assessments, fostering loyalty and identifying opportunities.
- Implement business development strategies to acquire new business, including outbound calling and cultivating referrals.
- Build relationships within the community to grow BMO’s business by generating appointments and outreach.
- Identify opportunities during customer conversations to generate referrals for banking products.
- Support sales and performance targets, providing team support to complete transactions.
- Respond to customer investment requests, aligning solutions with their goals, and referring to partners when appropriate.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service.
- Learns the role of Financial Planner and completes accreditation to develop into this role within 12-24 months.
- Introduce clients to investment strategies, helping them set goals and make financial progress.
- Understand customer needs and incorporate marketing promotions into conversations for strategic advice.
- Contribute to improving business results and customer experience.
- Maintain current knowledge of investment products, practices, and trends.
- Work across multiple branches and channels to deliver customer experience and meet business objectives.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Handle complex tasks and escalations, analyze issues, and determine next steps.
Qualifications:
- Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience with a related post-secondary degree or equivalent.
- Working towards licensing and registration requirements of a Financial Planner in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Good knowledge of the financial industry.
- Strong collaboration, communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
