Job summary

Royal Bank of Canada in Ottawa is seeking an Investment and Retirement Planning (IRP) Associate to support Financial Planners and the Investment and Retirement Planning team, enabling them to focus on planning, advice, and acquiring new clients.

You will prepare for client meetings, assist with simple investment solutions and referrals, maintain a superior client experience, verify documentation, and help identify opportunities to grow client assets and strengthen the team’s annual plan.

Qualifications

• Mutual funds accreditation required (e.g., Canadian funds course).
• Experience in investments or investment support roles.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and digital tools.
• Excellent communication with partners, by phone, email, and in person.
• Willingness to learn, adaptable, ethical, and collaborative.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparations for client meetings and referrals to partners.
• Maintain a superior client experience across branches and channels.
• Support client requests and ensure documentation accuracy with follow-ups.
• Use routines to complete tasks efficiently and identify improvement areas.
• Identify client needs, make referrals, acquire new investment clients and assets, and track progress against the annual plan.
• Follow policies to manage operational risk and support planners with admin tasks.
