Job summary

TD Bank is seeking an Investment Banking Associate in Toronto to join our Mergers & Acquisitions team. You will analyze client financials, build valuation models, and support deal execution across a range of industries.

We expect 3+ years in investment banking, strong modeling and communication skills, and willingness to pursue SIE and Series 79 licenses within four months. Base compensation ranges CAD 135,000–155,000 with discretionary incentives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in investment banking, preferably with a large Canadian or global bank.
• Strong financial/analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and valuation.
• Experience/interest in M&A and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to pursue SIE and Series 79 licenses within 4 months of hire.

Job Description

How You Will Contribute

• Research and analyze clients' financial situations, industry and market data, identify, research and analyze mergers and acquisition opportunities;
• Develop valuation models of individual private and public companies, as well as merged entities;
• Assist with transaction negotiations and documentation;
• Prepare external client proposals and internal memos;
• Prepare and contribute to the delivery of client presentations;
• Aid senior team members with idea generation;
• Manage and review the work of analysts; and
• Develop internal relationships in order to leverage products and services provided by TDBG.

Qualifications

• Current or prior experience in Investment Banking (3+ years) with a large Canadian or Global Investment Bank;
• Possess a combination of strong financial/analytical skills, excellent communication abilities and be adept at financial modeling and valuation;
• Experience / demonstrated interest in M&A;
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment; and
• Currently has or willing to work towards SIE and Series 79 licenses within 4 months of hire.
