Overview

Are you a talented investment analyst with strong knowledge of the capital markets and interested in public service, contributing to financial fairness and justice? We are currently looking for an Investment & Business Intelligence Analyst to join our ombudsman team.

Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments (OBSI) is an organization of highly skilled professionals inspired by a public service mission. OBSI makes a difference in people’s lives every day and helps to ensure a fair, effective and trusted financial system for everyone.

Responsibilities
  • The Investment & Business Intelligence Analyst plays a critical role in the analysis of consumer complaints, which is integral to achieving fair and reasonable case resolutions.
  • The Analyst conducts qualitative and quantitative analyses by assessing consumer investments and portfolios and comparing this to a consumer’s risk tolerance and investment objectives.
  • If issues are identified, the analyst is responsible for quantifying damages.
  • To assist in their analysis, the analyst will be required to use Bloomberg, Eikon and Microsoft Excel.
  • To be successful in this role, Analysts should have advanced financial analysis skills and experience, knowledge of capital markets and investment products, experience using Bloomberg/Eikon, strong command of Microsoft Excel and superior communication skills.
  • Enrollment in the Chartered Financial Analyst program with the completion of level I will be considered an asset.
