Job description

Kinterra is a private equity platform dedicated to building secure supply chains for the modern economy by acquiring and developing critical minerals and infrastructure assets. With ~US$1.5 billion in committed capital, Kinterra invests in high-quality, development-stage mining and related downstream infrastructure projects to deliver foundational supply chains that will drive the energy transition, support infrastructure expansion, and enable advanced manufacturing.

At Kinterra, we generate the strongest ideas from diverse perspectives in a culture rooted in collaboration, accountability, and transparency. Our mission is to execute with excellence and deliver robust, risk-adjusted returns for our investors while contributing to a more sustainable and resilient future. We work alongside our portfolio companies, leveraging deep technical, financial, and regulatory expertise to unlock value through hands-on development and de-risking. Our differentiated strategy combines opportunistic sourcing, structured value creation, and strategic monetization with downstream partners.

We are a fast-growing, mission-aligned team seeking a proactive and self-driven investment professional who is passionate about reshaping the future of critical materials and eager to operate at the intersection of global supply chains, innovation, and sustainability.

About the Role

Kinterra is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its Investment Origination team and gain hands-on exposure to every stage of the private equity investment lifecycle. Working alongside senior investment professionals in Toronto and Dubai, the successful candidate will support transaction execution, financial modelling, due diligence, investment committee materials, and portfolio value creation across Kinterra's critical minerals and infrastructure investments. This role is ideal for an early-career investment professional with strong analytical skills, a passion for private equity, and a desire to build a long-term career in principal investing within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including valuation, sensitivity, and scenario analyses to support the evaluation of potential investments
  • Analyze financial and operational data to support investment decisions and assess risk and return profiles
  • Support transaction execution by coordinating due diligence activities across technical, financial, and commercial workstreams
  • Assist in organizing and reviewing diligence materials and synthesizing findings to support internal decision-making
  • Prepare and manage virtual data rooms for sell side processes

Investment Committee & Reporting:

  • Prepare investment committee materials, including analysis, presentations, and supporting documentation for internal approvals
  • Contribute to the preparation of investment memoranda and supporting reports
  • Conduct sector research and competitive landscape analysis within the critical minerals and infrastructure sectors
  • Maintain industry databases and market intelligence to support ongoing investment evaluation and portfolio monitoring

Stakeholder Collaboration & Value Creation:

  • Collaborate with external advisors, consultants, and portfolio company management teams to support value creation initiatives
  • Assist in monitoring portfolio performance and supporting strategic initiatives as required

Investor & Strategic Communications:

  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and materials for capital-raising activities, investor updates, and strategic stakeholders

Ad Hoc & Special Projects:

  • Support special projects and ad hoc initiatives as required

What you Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, math, engineering, or science
  • 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, equity research, consulting, or at a mining company considered a strong asset
  • Knowledge and interest in the energy transition, metals and mining, metal processing, processing infrastructure, and industrials is preferred
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects under tight timelines
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills; ability to synthesize complex information clearly
  • Superior level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and financial data platforms such as Capital IQ, FactSet, or Bloomberg
  • Genuine interest in and long-term commitment to principal investing and private equity; strategic and creative thinking with distinguished written and oral communications skills.
