Role Description

Valsef Capital is looking for an ambitious Winter Intern to join our investment team and directly influence real capital allocation, transitioning into a Full-Time Analyst position thereafter upon graduation. In this role, you’ll gain hands‑on experience evaluating companies, constructing rigorous financial models, analyzing the aggregate portfolio, and building robust investment frameworks. You’ll contribute to portfolio strategy, prepare investment committee materials, and support risk management decisions, all while working closely with seasoned professionals in a collaborative, high‑performance environment. This is a unique opportunity to deepen your investment expertise while making a tangible impact on real‑world investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support idea generation, financial modeling, and ongoing coverage of investment opportunities.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of investment frameworks, tools, and reports.
  • Assist in preparing investment committee presentations, updates, and materials.
  • Conduct deep-dive research and analysis on companies, industries, and markets.
  • Help with portfolio management activities, including position sizing, hedging, risk monitoring, etc.
Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements
  • Numerous previous internship experiences in investment banking, investment research, private equity, or public equity.
  • Strong Excel modeling, PowerPoint, writing, and financial analysis skills; experience with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or similar tools.
  • Basic programming skills (e.g., Python, R) are a plus.
  • Demonstrated personal/professional passion for investing & experience managing personal capital with commendable results.
  • Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and ability to thrive in a high-expectation & tight-deadline-centric environment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to present analysis clearly to senior team members.
