Job description

Valnet is seeking a highly analytical and driven Investment Analyst to help run the acquisition lifecycle and to manage our internal investments.

The ideal candidate must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the desire to work in a fast-paced environment. This person will report directly to the Head of M&A and will work closely with our Brands and the rest of the leadership team in regards to future and potential acquisitions.

Responsibilities :

• Co-lead the entire acquisition lifecycle : sound knowledge of the competitive landscape, sourcing, pipeline growth, capital deployment, valuation, negotiating, due diligence assisting counsel with purchase agreement drafting, integration / management (operations) : with the ultimate objective of driving results in line with IRR expectations.
• Manage our internal investments by leading / co-leading operations with content / business partners and driving operational / financial results as per budgeted expectations.
• Assist investment team’s needs with ad hoc requests, i.e. operational and financial modeling / budgeting / tracking / KPIs, while also assisting with special projects / reporting / meetings / presentations, etc.
• Ideating and presenting new investment opportunities.
• Co-lead and / or assist portfolio management / operations on special mandates.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or in a related field.
• MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, VC, or corporate development.
• A strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques and due diligence processes.
• A strong self-motivated learner with strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
• An affinity for adtech, media or technology.
