Summary:
UNC's Department of Pharmacy is an organization of more than 300 dedicated employees with focused attention on caring for patients of the UNC Health Care system. The department is culturally diverse and has a variety of backgrounds, interests, capabilities, and experience. Research is a core mission for UNC Health and Investigational Drug Services (IDS) is at the epicenter of cutting-edge trials. IDS manages the distributional operations and billing of over 500 trials. There is a full-service General and Oncology Investigational Drug Services team onsite at UNC Medical Center located at Central Operations in Morrisville, North Carolina with supporting satellites across the UNC System including North Carolina Cancer Hospital (NCCH) that prepares and dispenses investigational therapies for patients being treated at UNC Health. These therapies are administered at the Medical Center or other system locations.
Position Summary: The team is seeking a highly motivated pharmacist to work in the IDS Pharmacy, General or Oncology, providing high-level customer service to patients at UNC Health Care. The focus of this position is to evaluate and implement clinical trial protocols and optimize drug distribution services for investigational drugs undergoing clinical trials within the UNC Medical Center and Health System Clinics. Vestigo is the research computer system utilized for studies and this pharmacist will be required to become proficient in using this system for inventory and labeling of the products dispensed. This individual will also be responsible for providing experiential instruction to Doctor of Pharmacy Students and UNC Medical Center pharmacy residents as able.

* PharmD or BS Pharmacy Degree
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy or obtainable before initiation of employment. Recent graduates of ACPE-accredited colleges/schools of pharmacy may fill this role while pending initial pharmacist licensure, but are subject to limitations mandated by the NC Board of Pharmacy and must obtain licensure within 6 months of orientation or sooner if required for operations.
