Job summary

A fast-growing food manufacturing company in Cambridge is seeking an Inventory Lead to ensure seamless production and inventory accuracy. You will manage materials planning and inventory control, requiring at least 3 years of relevant experience and proficiency in ERP systems. Inventory Lead

Location: Cambridge, ON

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 + performance bonus

Reports to: President

About The Company

Our client is a fast-growing food manufacturing company specializing in high-quality beverage products. With a commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence, they supply products across Canada. This role is critical in ensuring that production never stops, materials flow seamlessly, and inventory accuracy meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a raw-materials plan from the production schedule.
  • Apply yield loss and time-phase demand to BOMs.
  • Set safety stock and reorder points with service levels.
  • Convert plans to purchase orders and secure acknowledgments within 24 hours.
  • Manage expedites, alternates, and supply risk.
  • Define bin architecture and enforce FIFO/FEFO practices.
  • Run cycle counts with root cause correction; prevent negative stock.
  • Issue/return materials to work orders and close daily.
  • Maintain barcode standards for all receiving, put-away, kitting, and FG labeling.
  • Build ERP dashboards for stock levels, PO tracking, and variance management.
  • Create staging bins and kitting checklists to support smooth production changeovers.
  • Lead monthly mass-balance checks and Kaizen improvements for variances and supplier performance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in materials planning and inventory control within the food or CPG industry.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience in supplier negotiations.
  • Experience with Lean, 5S, or Kaizen methodologies is considered an asset.
